BLOODWORK: CAPTURE COMPLETE

Day 4 of the San José BloodWork photo shoot has come to a close.  The calmness of a moment with nothing to do washes over us.  There are still a few beautiful rōnin wondering the planet that we hope to image, however, all the major campaigns to capture backpieces and bodysuits around the globe are now complete.  Soon we prepare for the design phase of the project.

THE PATH: RICKY: BLOODOWORK

Today Ricky and I completed his backpiece. While I'm relieved to have this first one wrapped up for the BloodWork project, it’s always a bit melancholy when these large undertakings reach completion.  The sense of accomplishment is enormous however; a bond of blood is broken and often the two collaborators are left with a wistful feeling of "what now".  This is overly contemplative as I know I'll see Ricky again in life.  But still, they (the collectors) walk away to continue living life and the tattooer (me anyways) is left with a sense of loneliness.

THE PATH: RICKY

Decided that the regular Audits I was doing arent necessary any longer. My other ATAK comrades now have their own blogs and the temporal length it took to put the Audits together subtracts too much from time I could be drawing tattoos. So I am going to try posting a more streamlined and/or raw progress report focusing on works in progress. Hopefully it'll also allow me to put images out into the ether more often.

So without further adieu...

Recently started work on Ricky's backpiece. A motivate client. Anticipate swift progress.
