So if you would like to get tattooed by him, now would be the time cause’ he’s here. Not to mention he is an amazing tattooer who we all quietly steal from for our own tattooing (dont act you dont do it too).

You can see a selection of his tattoos here.

LIFESTYLE C.C. COTTON CADI

CHECK OUT PART OF THE MURAL I JUST DID FOR ONE OF MY CLUB BROTHERS ON THE FAN SHROWD OF HIS 1979 COUPE DE VILLE. I MURALED ALL THE JAMS OVER 7 YEARS AGO. LOOK OUT FOR FLIKS OF THE PROGRESS ON THE REST OF THE CAR.

AFTERBURNEDOUT: YEAR1/BLOODWORK

Afterburnedout… Thursday through Sunday was a whirlwind. Undertook the North American side of the BloodWork: Sleeves photo shoot, got wasted at our Year 1 celebration, and worked Horitaka’s Convention of the Tattoo Arts.

The Year 1 celebration went off great! Thanks to everyone that came out and made merry with us. Also thanks to Panthelion and Chatos 1013 for the filling the space with sonic pleasures, and to the Divebar Superstar and Defy for keeping everyone’s throats wet. Highlight of the evening was surely Matt and Beppe’s drunkin’ tattoo exchange. This is par for the course when you feed an Italian and a Ninja too much Johnie Walker.

Each day from 10am to 10pm we shot BloodWork: Sleeves across the street from Analog at a second story loft. We had to tear apart the Cal King bed in order to make room for the photo equipment, leaving the space looking like a disheveled porn shoot, but it worked out great. Collectors from around the States flew into San Jose to be photographed for the coming book project. Over the course of the weekend Max shot over forty sleeves by many notable tattooers. Many thanks to everyone who made the extra effort to get to San Jose to be photographed. Thanks also to Good Karma for catering, Mark and Tony for photo assistance, and Takashi and Marcus for keeping the bus on the road.

Work hard, play hard. Was a good week.

ARCHIVES

STAY POSTED FOR ARCHIVE PHOTOS!! I WILL BE POSTING ONE EVERY WEEK. I WAS DIGGING AND FOUND A GEISHA THAT I DID A WHILE BACK FOR ONE OF MY LONG TIME CLIENTS, HE HAS HIS BACK, BOTH RIBS AND CHEST.

"Wendy"

Facebook (remember the days when it was exclusive to students only?), aka. cum bucket of the internet, has so much to offer.

You can get reconnect with "friends" that you never had interest in real life, lose your privacy, get bombarded by clever data-mining advertisers, and blah blah blah...

It comes with no surprise there is a group called "CooLeSt TaTToo On FaceBook...." with this posted in it by Wayne Fright (go ahead and friendquest him):

Enola's Tattoo in Waterworld

io9.com recently posted something about futuristic bad-ass tattoos, one that received much attention is on the back of Enola in Waterworld (it was a shitty movie by Kevin Costner, come to think of it, were any of Costner's movies good?).

From Engrish & Hanzi Smatter
I thought Enola was a dwarf when I first saw the movie. Perhaps that was because the camera's angle that made her head huge and shrunk her torso.

The characters on the left of the circular thing is "latitude" and "longitude" on the right. I don't know why the movie people decided to break two characters into three. It is not like they are saving any flesh space.

The characters inside of the circular part is longitude & latitude's actual coordinates.

Latitude = 27° 59' N
Longitude = 86° 56' E

Spoiler alert: it is the location of Mount Everest.

SPREADING HER WINGS!

CHECK OUT ALBA AND HER NEW BACKPIECE. SHE WANTED TO START OUT WITH THE WINGS ON THE LOWER PART OF HER BACK THEN MOVE ON TO THE WARRIOR AND FAIRY. SHE IS SO DOPE AND ALWAYS BRINGS A FAT BAG A CANDY FOR EVERYONE HERE AT THE SHOP.

Evian

We just got back from a few days in France. The reason for our trip was the 2 days convention in Evian and following Nicks birthday but more about that later.
Evian is a nice little town with mostly older people living there and not much to do so it seamed like a strange location for a tattoo convention. I was kinda nice to walk out of a noice buzzing convention and look at pretty mountains and cute houses so it worked!

Here is what came out of my trip this time. Did one more but we need to re-outline it so the pictures of that one will have to wait a bit.

To see more pictures and read tales from our trip to the country of smelly cheeses and baguettes then go to my wifes blog! So is sooo much better at this than me.

Morning cafè

Outside our hotel and few steps from the convention.

I ended up working all the time as always so I never even saw what was going on in the rest of the place but good to meet some people we only see on conventions and to meet some new friends.

More pictures later! I had my 35 mm Holga with me Loaded with B/W film so I am looking forward to see what comes out of that.

Nov 2008 Wired - Lost, in Translation

In November 2008 issue of Wired magazine, there is an interesting article about underground (or should that be "under-net") volunteers that would add subtitles to popular American television shows for those who do not understand English.

The concept is interesting however the illustration accompanying the story is not so.

While both English and Arabic alphabets are up-right and correct, the four Chinese characters are upside-down.

means "serious laughter" in Chinese.

This is second time I have spotted Wired magazine making similar snafu.
