More progress on Jim's Shiva image...

THE PATH: JIM

Here's a preliminary image of Jim's back. There's a few independent planes that we wanted to merge which required extra prep work before undertaking the final drawing. Here we were sketching in the major forms using pen. Later I took the lessons learned form the pre sketching and applied them to the final drawing. If you refer back a few entries you can see the outcome.

Early image of Jim's long road. Outside of my narrow focus, he's got a lot of foothills to climb before we get to a completion plateau. This is one of those tattoos that I am terrified about not being able to complete. I loose too much sleep to these thoughts.
